A caving trip down Reservoir Hole
Wednesday 4 June 2014
Many many more people have climbed Everest than have been to the Frozen Deep in Reservoir Hole, the largest (known) chamber under the Mendips. This is only my second trip underground with a camera (the little Canon S95) and these photos were taken handheld with the light from our headtorches. Not the way to get good quality photos - the ISO was high (1600) and the exposures long. I'd like to try and take some proper photos underground one day. It's not a friendly place for cameras, but long exposures on a decent support or using remote flashes are two techniques that work.
