A night on Pen Y Fan

Sunday 27 September 2015

Pen Y Fan is such a busy mountain, I didn't really expect complete solitude by spending the night near the summit. Nonetheless, it was busier than I expected, with three tents on the summit and two on Corn Du as well. We camped a little further away, but close enough for a moonlit hike to the summit after dinner. As forecast, the weather was spectacular, with low clouds forming in the valleys far below us in the morning. A very special morning!

Thanks to Tom Bridge Photography who I met on the top, for letting me borrow the 150-600mm lens he had carried all the way up. The detail shots of the trees and fields were taken with this.
