Dursley Walking Festival

Sunday 4 October 2015

I did two of the walks for the Dursley Walking Festival. Even though I go walking regularly from our house here in Dursley, I still learned a couple of new paths and had a good chat with many people on the well attended walks.

Downham Hill, Friday 2nd

The walk started in fog, but I'd heard it was clear up on top so I was hopeful that we'd get high enough to get above the cloud. Indeed we did, with excellent timing too - we reached the top of Downham hill as the cloud was beginning to quickly burn off. Thanks to Rob and Marjory for leading the walk.

Part of the Lantern Way, Sunday 4th

The walk again started under clouds, but once through the woods it was clearing up on top. The leaves are turning golden on top of the trees, but in the woods it still is pretty green. That will soon change though - and I do love autumn in the woods here. Thanks to David H and David A for leading this walk.
