Exmoor

I grew up on Exmoor so know parts of it very well. This weekend we visited a couple of old favourite places. Firstly was Hurlstone Point, which has great views over the sea and sweeping Porlock Bay. We walked around the rugged coast path, one of the most dramatic and mountainous feeling places in the south of England. Then we dropped down to the pebbles of Bossington beach. The next day, we walked over Bat's Castle, an iron age hill fort that has great views along Grabbist to Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor. Later we dropped down to the edge of Dunster, heading over Dunster deer park, which gives a fine view over to Dunster Castle and Conygar Tower.
