Morning Mist

Friday 9 October 2015

As we got up around sunrise this morning, there was a beautiful layer of cloud hanging low nearby, with the peaks of Downham Hill and Uley Bury visible above it. I quickly dashed out, but by the time I'd reached the top of Uley Bury the warming sun had burnt most of the cloud off. I thought I'd missed the show, although the River Severn was still under thicker cloud in the distance. I decided to go back to the car and head in that direction. I was soon driving in thick fog, so I stopped off at Cam Peak. At the top, the cloud was now under me in all directions - although like last November, it came and went. An excellent sea of clouds - and it just goes to show that we shouldn't give up on the weather too soon.
