Beautiful Bluebells

Friday 29 April 2016

As with last year and the year before, I've collected my bluebell photos into one blog post. I love seeing how the woods develop over this short time, with the leaves coming out on the trees over a carpet of bluebells. These photos were all taken on walks from our house in Dursley, mainly in Twinberrow Woods but also some up the Whiteway and near Cam Peak.

Bluebells are challenging to capture and I've tried a whole range of techniques here to get some of the impression and feel of a bluebell wood. I used lens from very wide (20mm on full frame) to pretty long (300mm), sometimes focusing on individual flowers, sometimes on the carpet within the woodland.
