Uley Bury and Downham Hill with a dusting of snow

Saturday 11 February 2017

I didn't really expect any snow, so it was a pleasant surprise to see some when we got up this morning. I love how snow transforms a landscape and often travel over to the Brecon Beacons if there's snow on the ground, as I did in November and January. So although I would have loved some deeper snow and a colder day, it was still a great pleasure to wander snowy hills directly from my house in Dursley. We did a circular loop through Twinberrow Woods and continuing in the woods beyond, up Uley Bury and then Downham Hill before heading back to Dursley via a little lane and the Cotswold Way path.
