Cotswold Clouds Classic Car Trial
Sunday 4 February 2018
Somehow I've not seen the Cotswold Clouds car trial since 2014, even though a famous section "Crooked Mustard" takes place in Twinberrow woods near my house. I do enjoy watching the the cars attempting to climb the twisty track, sometimes flinging mud in your direction as you attempt to stand on the steep cold hillside. Today I moved around a fair bit to get more variety in the photos - and keep warm! Playing with shutter speed gives variation too - slow with camera panning to give background blur and a sense of speed, fast to freeze the action.

Lost traction, not getting up!

A little wheelspin

Wheelspin and determination

The s-bend of Crooked Mustard just doesn't look steep from the angle, but it is hard to walk down in the mud

Crazy wheelie! - nerves of steel and amazing control
