FaceOmeter 'Why Wait for Failure'

Sunday 2 November 2014

I don't know quite how to describe FaceOmeter. He's a singer/songwriter/story teller I've had the pleasure of listening to for the best part of a decade, discovered quite by chance as he was playing at the same gig as a friend's band. He plays guitar in a somewhat folk style and sings extremely fast about all manner of fantasy and truth. "Whimsically real" is my wife's description. Occasionally - and very usually for a songwriter - he sings about science, which perhaps is part of his appeal to me.

FaceOmeter has just released a fantastic new album "Why Wait for Failure?". We've listened to it a lot and it's available to stream for free at Bandcamp. Better yet, buy a copy there - especially the beautifully produced CD, with perfectly matched artwork by Freya Hartas.

We were fortunate enough to make it (by ten whole minutes) to the album launch gig, at the Jam Factory in Oxford, on the way home from Sicily. A wonderful evening of music and entertainment, happy times indeed.
