Uley Bury

Wednesday 15 July 2015

Uley Bury is a flat topped hill and site of an iron age hill fort, which we look out onto from our house. It has great views and makes a wonderful place to watch the sun go down. Tonight the air was unusually clear, the best I've seen here. If it's reasonably clear you can see beyond the river Severn over to the distinctive cone of Sugar Loaf (34 miles away) and the other hills of the Black Mountains that I love to walk in. Tonight though was exceptional and the double peak of Pen Y Fan and Corn Du was obvious - they are 50 miles away!
